Around June of 2024 Dylan began having GI issues. He had difficulty eating, frequent vomiting & diarrhea. Doctors explored Celiac Disease & Lactose Intolerance since there is a family history of both of those conditions. They were unable to come up with a root cause & tried various medications to help relieve pain/symptoms. Dylan continued to have issues in addition to losing a substantial amount of weight. Due to his chronic health issues, he also missed a lot of work. In November of 2024 after passing out at work, his wife Marisa took him to urgent care & he was rushed to the ER by ambulance. He was admitted for surgery after discovering a bowel obstruction on the verge of rupturing. He had portions of his lower & upper intestines removed, along with his appendix & a Ileostomy was performed. A biopsy was performed to check for cancer & Crohn’s disease – luckily those tests were negative.
Since he was sick for so long, he is very emaciated & now lives with an Ileostomy bag, so he’s not been released to work full time.
He has improved quite a bit since November, but he will need 3 different scopes in February to check his overall GI health. In May or June time frame he’ll be in the hospital again for a week while they attempt to reverse the Ileostomy.
Medical bills have accumulated over the past several months & it’s been a financial struggle for Dylan, Marisa & their 2 sons.
They’re private people & don’t like to ask for help but Nick & I as parents/grandparents worry about their financial struggle. We’re asking if you’re able to give a little to help them over this bump in life, we know they would appreciate it immensely.
Also please keep them in your thoughts & prayers as Dylan continues with his journey to better health.
Thank you!
