On June 25, my son Dustin was involved in a serious motorcycle accident in Birmingham, Alabama, while on a road trip with his bike club. As a result, he suffered several injuries, including a broken pelvis, broken vertebrae, a skull fracture, traumatic injuries to his lower extremities, and several broken bones in his face. After the accident, Dustin was transported to UAB Hospital and required 4 surgeries over the span of 3 days.

Over the past month, Dustin has remained at UAB Hospital recovering and being nursed back to health. Each day, Dustin has become more responsive to treatment. Over what has been an emotional and stressful month for my family, I am happy to report that though Dustin faces a long road to recovery, he is now stable and recovering.

Dustin has remained in the hospital in Birmingham since his accident, but we now face the difficult challenge of transporting him back to Maryland and setting up the resources he will need to continue his recovery back home in Maryland.

We are thankful to the trauma team at UAB Hospital and all the friends and family who have kept us in prayer as we navigate this challenging time. This GoFundMe is to provide a way to help Dustin navigate this new challenge. This includes medical support, medical transport back to Maryland, and aftercare expenses.
