Aid Dublin's Fight Against Painful Episodes
Donation protected
Dublin has been facing some distressing and inexplicable health issues. A few days ago, he began experiencing what seemed like a sudden neurological episode. We took him to the vet immediately, but the cause remains unclear. It might be severe arthritis combined with a double ear infection, but his symptoms are complex: he has a persistent head tilt, lifts one paw as if it hurts the most, contorts his body unusually during episodes, and experiences significant pain—yelping, even though he’s not typically vocal.
He’s now on a regimen of medications, but further tests are likely necessary, including x-rays and a neurology consultation. Tests so far have revealed a tick-borne illness, which his Seresto collar should have prevented. This suggests he may have contracted it before his adoption, and these episodes could be a result of a dormant condition now manifesting.
We’re heartbroken and unsure of what’s causing this, but he’s not doing well. We’ve been here before with another mysterious illness, and the generosity of others made a critical difference in getting him the care he needed. We find ourselves in a similar situation now, needing to ask for help again.
If you were planning to send anything for the holidays, we would deeply appreciate any contributions toward Dublin’s care. Even small donations can make a meaningful impact. Unfortunately, our financial situation means some of the decisions we’re facing are dictated by cost, and we’re doing our best to prioritize his well-being. Thank you for your kindness and support—it means the world to us, as does Dublin.
