Aid Dr. Primm's Path to Recovery

Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters,
We are reaching out to share the story of a truly special person—Dr. Debi Primm, a dedicated middle school math teacher in Hillsborough County, Florida. For the past 11 years, Dr. Primm has devoted her life to teaching students the joys and challenges of math, always going above and beyond to ensure each student feels supported and empowered. Her passion for education and commitment to her students have made a lasting impact on the lives of countless children.
However, over the past few years, Dr. Primm has been facing a series of difficult health challenges that have greatly affected her mobility and overall well-being. What began as nerve pain, spasms, and mobility issues eventually led to a spinal fusion surgery last year. Unfortunately, the surgery did not alleviate her pain and revealed a much more serious issue: a tumor growing on her spinal cord at T7.
On December 16th, Dr. Primm underwent surgery to remove the tumor, which was attached to the spinal cord and nerves. This procedure required extensive work, going through her spine from T6 to T8. While recovering at home post-surgery, Dr. Primm experienced a significant loss of feeling and mobility below the waist, leading to an emergency visit and further complications, including a possible infection. This required additional surgeries to clean out the area and insert drains, prolonging her stay in the hospital and causing further setbacks in her recovery.
Throughout this challenging time, Dr. Primm has remained incredibly dedicated to her students and family. Despite her medical struggles, she continues to think of her students and is committed to supporting her long-term substitute in planning lessons and grading work. However, the physical toll of her surgeries and the need for 6-8 weeks of recovery have left her unable to work, adding financial stress to an already difficult situation.
As a teacher, Dr. Primm’s health insurance is limited, and she now faces mounting medical bills and expenses. We are asking for your support to help ease some of this burden and allow Dr. Primm to focus on her healing without the added stress of financial concerns.
No amount is too small, and every donation will go directly to helping Dr. Primm with medical expenses, bills, and any other financial challenges she may face in the coming months. Let’s come together as a community to show her the same love, care, and kindness she has shown to so many of her students and colleagues.
