Support Dr. Ricardo Carrillo's Healing Journey
This GoFundMe is for Dr. Ricardo Carrillo — a devoted San Francisco Crisis Responder and psychologist who has spent decades serving individuals and families impacted by trauma and domestic violence. As a specialist in men’s domestic violence therapy and a long-time crisis intervention provider for the City of San Francisco, Dr. Carrillo has always been on the front lines — offering compassion, healing, and therapy to those in their most vulnerable moments.
Now, he needs our help.
In February 2025, Dr. Carrillo suffered a brain hemorrhage that resulted in stroke-like symptoms, including impaired speech and loss of mobility. While he has since made remarkable progress — regaining his ability to speak and steadily improving his movement — the underlying cause of the hemorrhage was never fully diagnosed. He remains under the care of a neurologist as his recovery continues.
Then, in March 2025, Dr. Carrillo experienced a second medical emergency — acute kidney failure. He was hospitalized again, and while this episode was even more severe, he miraculously pulled through. However, these back-to-back medical crises have left him medically disabled and unable to return to the career and calling that defined his life.
Despite his resilience and ongoing progress, Dr. Carrillo now faces mounting medical expenses — including ambulance transportation and treatments not covered by insurance. On a limited disability income, these costs have become a heavy burden.
We are asking for your support to help lift that burden.
Whether you are able to give $10 or $1000, every donation makes a difference. All funds raised will go directly toward medical bills, rehabilitative care, and necessary support services to help Dr. Carrillo continue his path toward healing.
Dr. Carrillo has spent a lifetime showing up for others — guiding countless individuals and families through pain, trauma, and crisis. Today, it’s our turn to show up for him.
Thank you for your generosity, your prayers, and your support. Please share this campaign widely and help us give back to someone who has given so much.
