We've had several challenging moments throughout life, as I'm sure many of you have, but this, my Mother, Dorothy Strong Bacon's battle with breast cancer, is like none other that we've faced as a family. Furthermore, my asking for help is a personal challenge that I am overcoming in present time. My mother has been battling breast cancer since August of 2020. After two years of chemo and radiation treatments, she seemingly beat cancer and rang the bell in April of 2022, signifying victory! Unfortunately, in March of 2024, cancer resurfaced with a vengeance, attacking her breast and lung. They removed the nodule in her lung and began chemo treatments on her breast. On August 28, 2025, she underwent a double mastectomy. Travel, lodging, medical costs, and mental anguish are taking a toll. We all trust that GOD is in control and will see her through this, but it will not happen without further challenges, i.e., physical pain, mental struggles, and financial strain.

First, we ask for your prayers and secondly, a small donation to assist in the growing costs. The Cancer Society has been a great help, yet more help is needed. No donation is too small. I've witnessed my mother give her last to those in need, taking several friends and family members into her home. Her heart of compassion and empathy for others has filtered down to us, her children, and now we turn to you for help. Please find it in your heart to assist us in this fight against cancer and its outlying side effects! We are sincerely grateful for those who have already given to the cause.
