Hello everyone,
I pray this finds you in great health and spirits. My name is Oneida Garcia and I am reaching out to share a personal challenge that my family and I are facing and to kindly ask for your support.
On 2/19/25, I rushed my husband, Donato Garcia, to the Emergency Room due to vomiting blood. When we arrived, his hemoglobin level was low at 5.7, and he had to receive a total of 4 units of blood. The gastroenterologist performed a procedure where she had to take a look inside his stomach to see where the bleeding was coming from. Right away, she told me that she did not like what she saw. She biopsied the area in question and told us we had to wait for the pathology report to determine the course of treatment. On 2/21/25, we received the devastating news that it was cancer (gastric adenocarcinoma) at Stage III.
On 2/27/25, my husband had to undergo surgery where a part of his stomach had to be removed. My husband's medical condition (gastric adenocarcinoma Stage III) requires what is called "sandwich therapy," which consists of 2 rounds of chemotherapy, then 28 treatments of chemo/radiation together, then chemotherapy again.
His treatment started on 3/31/25 and will continue until August 2025.
I am humbly asking for donations to assist with the cost of treatments, as we are unprepared for this journey. No amount is too small. Even a share will help us. It is completely understandable if you're unable to make a donation at this time, as times are difficult these days. I have complete faith in my Lord Jesus Christ and know He will make a way. I am a firm believer in the power of prayer and kindly ask that you lift my husband and my family up in prayer: "Where two or three are gathered in my name, there I am with them" (Matthew 18:20).
My husband served 37 years in law enforcement. 27 years were with the La Feria Police Dept., including 16 years as the Police Chief. As of 2016, when he retired from the La Feria P.D., he has served as Commissioner for the City of La Feria, Texas.
My family and I are grateful for any donations and thank you in advance. May God bless each and every one of you abundantly.
Warmest Regards,
The Garcia Family
