Aid Dolores Deluce in Her Time of Need
Donation protected
Dear friends, I am writing to ask for your support in helping my Muse Extraordinaire, Dolores Deluce, in her time of need. Dolores had a series of strokes, which landed her in the hospital on October 10th. She is recuperating there and awaiting word for an after-care and physical therapy setting. I will continue to update you through GoFundMe. Dolores has also been struggling with long-term skeletal and muscular pain, which will continue to be part of her ongoing physical therapy. The short version is that Dolores can't work for now. She needs our help!
Dolores wants you also to know she has been having trouble remembering things, so please hold off on the phone calls for now. Robert Croonquist just set up a Caring Bridge website where folks can schedule drop-ins and help with errands. Dolores will likely become more active in journaling there and here in time. https://www.caringbridge.org/site/83dad644-8fd3-11ef-9954-91aa98036294?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web&utm_content=copylink_leftmenu_php
For now, donations of any amount are very welcome. This GoFundMe campaign will remain open for a while. (Funds will be used for gas money for Viva (Dolores is her mom), who has been doing a lot of the heavy lifting, and also to cover any expenses not covered by Dolores's current insurance (Sag/Aftra). Several of us supporters and Dolores agree that it is good to begin this campaign now.
Dolores expressed her gratitude to everyone who has helped and is considering helping her. Permit me to add that though Dolores LIVES for solvency, she is like many artists we know and love; they are, in reality, struggling financially and often living just over broke.
Let us help play a part in Dolores's healing together. Please do share this campaign on social media.
For those of you who don't know me yet, Dolores and I have known each other since 1975 when Dolores recruited the "baby gay" me to help on the multi-media aspects of her theatrical extravaganza "Broken Dishes." I instinctively knew to stick around all these years for the joy that Dolores is famous for...
