Hi there, my name is Dev and I'll be needing hip surgery within the next 2-3 months.

I've been having pain on and off for years at this point and finally found a doctor and insurance plan that want to eradicate the issue rather than simply cover the pain up. With there being a tear in my hip joint that's allowed for fluid to build up into a cyst, surgery is the only solution for a permanent fix. Currently, the injury makes it difficult to walk some days as I lose feeling in my hip completely or can't stand to put any weight on it with how painful it is.

The recovery time is a little daunting, estimated at 4-6 months, which would take me out of my job during that time, if not more, considering I'm a baker and work on my feet 8-10 hours a day. This fundraiser is simply to help me navigate that time off work while still being able to afford the follow-up appointments. This isn't an ideal time for me; my last semester of school will need to take a back burner again, and I've not been at my job long enough to accrue sick time of this magnitude.

Coverage and help with bare minimum necessities while recovering is the main goal, because I know so many other people are facing similar situations and stressors every day.
