On June 12,2025 Derwin Anderson called his wife Antiqua Anderson around 5am, panic in his voice yelling he couldn’t get out of his car that he was stuck.
when asked where was he all that could be heard was a loud rush of water and the phone disconnected.
Immediately family joined together to find him.
on this day it was heavy rain and flooding .
family went to the flood zones narrowing them down by his normal routine.
wife Antiqua Anderson spotted Derwin’s vehicle by the bumper and one and his tire sticking up in a downward position mostly under water…
family stayed at leon creek where his car was for more than 16 hours waiting to get his car pulled out of the water.
once the car was pulled out, it was successfully identified that it was Derwin’s vehicle and he was not found inside….
Responding officers and detectives stated it was too dangerous to search for him so the family started searching on our own.
we searched for Derwin from sun up to sundown in dangerous conditions for 3 days. June 12,13 and 14th
we searched the land on foot and in the water with little to no help , through trees that were washed up by the roots to mountains of car parts and debris…
we pulled out tents, coolers and chairs because we refused to stop looking and leave him…
prayed hour after hour…
still we could not find him .
on June 14th in the afternoon Derwin was found deceased .
By divers and search Dogs ….
Derwin was not only a honorable man, serving our country but he leaves behind his family, his wife and their 4 children and friends..
he was always a man to take care of everything and now that he is not with us anymore Antiqua Anderson needs help and support with adjusting to the changes, financially mentally and emotionally.
on behalf of the Anderson family, we thank each and every person who sent their condolences and that is able to make a donation in advance…
any amount is greatly appreciated and even if you are unable to donate at this time, please share the GoFundMe so that we can reach as many people as possible to help in our time of need.
we are diligently working to improve the flood zones and the drainage system so that no one else’s family has to go through this.
our deepest condolences to all of the other families who lost their loved one in the flood.
Rest in Paradise Derwin we love you and we miss you everyday
