Hi Friends & Family, my name is Anna Schild. I am married to Derek Schild, a great husband and father who has always worked hard as a Millwright to support his family and spend time with our kids and family. I am reaching out to share news of a bad accident with Derek which occurred in August. Thankfully, he survived. I am doing a GoFundMe to help Derek and our family through this very difficult time and financial crisis.

Derek was in his shop on August 10th and was working on one of his jeeps when he fell backwards and landed headfirst on the concrete floor. He was airlifted to a hospital in Pensacola where they found he had three brain bleeds. The brain bleeds have stopped. No surgery was needed, but he is in ICU because when he hit his head, apparently it did something to his ability to swallow, gag, or cough. So, he does have a trach in to help him breathe. Thankfully, he is not paralyzed. He has pneumonia which makes it worse, but he is progressing every day and getting better.

At this time, we are facing overwhelming medical/hospital costs, recovery to soon include upcoming therapy/rehab facility, along with traveling costs of going back and forth to the hospital which is 60 miles each way. We also currently support a family of five (Derek, me, and our three kids). One of which is still at home and two smaller ones in which we share custody. We have two other kids, but they are out on their own now. I continue to go strong with working and trying to hold everything together with our essential needs, finances, and living costs for our family, being there for Derek, and working but can greatly use some help through this challenging time. We just want to bring him home.

Due to his condition, we do not know when he will get out of the hospital. Once released from the hospital, he will then be transferred to a rehab center. We are currently looking into assistance in other areas, but it is a slow process.
