Aid Denise's Healing Journey: Medical and Rehab Support

On October 12 my mother, Denise, was in a terrible accident. She was crossing the street and got struck by a car. She is suffering many injuries. These injuries include, cervical and thoracic spine fractures, rib fractures, pulmonary bruising, an avulsion fracture to her elbow, a broken nose, a broken right foot, broken tibia and fibula in her left leg, countless cuts/bruises and road rash from literally head to feet. Not only is it a miracle that she is alive, but somehow she avoided getting any brain injuries or internal bleeding.

Long story short, the driver had minimal insurance. The pay out to my mother for this will be LESS THAN $75,000. Her medical bills will be astronomical. My mother is retired and living on a fixed income and only has medicaid as her health insurance.

On October 28th she was moved to a rehab in Far Rockaway. It was the only location that would accept my mother's insurance. I live out east in Rocky Point, and on a normal day it is a 2 hour drive. It's pretty frustrating.

I'm creating this gofundme to help with her medical bills and possibly move her to a closer, but more importantly I would love for her to be moved to a better rehab. She has a long road of recovery and medical bills ahead of her. A donation of any amount would be so helpful and greatly appreciated.
