What do we say to the God of Death? Not today.
On November 16th my mother Denise was making the weekly family dinner. As my family was wrapping up and getting ready to leave, I watched as my mom collapsed in front of me and fall down the stairs.
After 15 minutes of CPR and many shocks from a defibrillator, she had a pulse and was taken to the ER by the paramedics.
By the end of the night she was moved to the ICU. The diagnosis? Cardiac Arrest from an unknown cause.
Doctors still don't know what the root cause was, but have found more issues along the way. Over two weeks later, she's now in the rehab unit of the hospital starting the next step of her journey, open heart surgery and a defibrillator insertion. When she is finally discharged (we're hoping before Christmas!) she will be in recovery until she is stable and ready to return to her home, her dogs, and to work.
Which brings me here, asking for your help.
As you may know, medical bills for a situation like this escalate quickly, as well as any outside unexpected costs, and of course the ability to not work and collect a full paycheck.
Any funds raised will go directly towards Denise's medical expenses, rehabilitation, and assistance. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in her journey towards healing.
Please share this campaign with your friends, family, and social networks to help us reach our goal!
