Aid Delaney & Family During Navy’s CDH NICU Journey
Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family, and Kindhearted Strangers,
As many of you know, my daughter Delaney and her boyfriend Zach are expecting their first baby, a precious little girl named Navy Jolene, due in June 2025. What should have been an exciting time of preparing for their baby has now turned into a time of fear and uncertainty.
On February 7th, during a routine anatomy scan, Delaney and Zach learned that Navy has been diagnosed with Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH), a rare birth defect where the diaphragm doesn't develop properly, allowing her organs—like the stomach, intestines, liver, and spleen—to move up into her chest cavity, where her lungs should be developing. Navy will need immediate, life-saving treatment after birth, including surgery and months of care in the NICU at Cincinnati Children's Hospital.
To be prepared for any early delivery, Delaney and Zach will need to move to Cincinnati starting April 21st, 2025 at 32 weeks pregnant. This means Delaney will be away from her other two daughters, Serena 7 and Londyn 6, and will miss work, adding an additional financial strain. While Delaney is working on securing temporary lodging through the Ronald McDonald House, there is no guarantee of an opening. If there are no spots available, they will need to find a rental or stay in hotels for weeks or even months.
In addition to the medical costs and current housing up keep in Kentucky Delaney will need funds to cover lodging in Cincinnati, food, gas, and the continued care of her other two girls during this time away. The financial burden is overwhelming, and they will need all the help they can get.
We are humbly asking for donations to help cover these costs and any other expenses that may arise during this difficult time. Your prayers, kind words, and support mean the world to Delaney, Zach, and their family. No amount is too small, and every donation will make a difference as they navigate this challenging journey together.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read their story and for supporting them with your generosity. We are incredibly grateful for all of your prayers, love, and kindness.
With love and gratitude,
Shyla (Oma)
