Help Delaney Girls Family Recover from Palisades Wildfire
Donation protected
My name is Fiona Delaney and like so many others, my mom Kathleen, my sister Nina, and I lost our home in Sunset Mesa, Malibu due to the Palisades wildfires on January 7th. This was the home my parents started a life in nearly 30 years ago, the home Nina and I took some of our first steps in, the home I moved back into after college until I got my bearings, the home my mom was supposed to grow old in. It was the anchor we thought we’d always have, and yet it was gone within hours of evacuating.
While Nina and I are lucky to have most of our belongings with us, my mom lost everything. And, again, like many others, we’re not sure if rebuilding is in the cards for us—at the moment, it’s beyond uncertain due to a number of factors—which is making it quite hard to grasp just how much we lost. Despite not knowing what the future holds, at the very least I want to help my mom as much as we possibly can right now.
My mom operates on a single income and is the hardest working person I know; she has walked down an unbelievable path to get to where she is now, to work for her dreams and to keep this house a home for Nina and I, and I will forever cherish and respect her dedication and the sacrifices she made for us. It crushes me that this fire took nearly all of that away from her.
I know we all know so many others in need, but anything helps and would be greatly appreciated. Thank you to everyone who has been so supportive and kind to our family. We love and appreciate our community so, so much, and hope that everyone stays safe in these devastating times ❤️❤️❤️
