Aid Deacon's Path to Full Recovery

On June 24th, Deacon Staska was riding his bike with friends when he was hit by a car. Deacon suffered a severe concussion, skull fracture and a brain bleed. He spent 8 days in the hospital. Since then, he has had numerous doctor visits, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, repeat MRIs and dental visits due to the impact shifting his jaw. With his scans, doctors discovered an incidental finding that Deacon also has a condition called malrotation of the intestines which means his abdominal organs are on the opposite side of where they should be. This requires surgical intervention. Deacon will be having surgery on October 20th to correct this.

Deacon has been such a brave boy during all of this, but he is still suffering from the effects of his traumatic brain injury. As you can imagine, the financial cost of treating all of this is continuing to pile up and dealing with insurance has been a constant and uphill battle. Not to mention the mental and emotional burden this has placed on not just Deacon, but the whole family.

Matt and Jenn would drop anything to help out someone in need, and we all just want Deacon to heal properly and with the hopes of fewer issues in the future. I am starting this Go Fund Me to hopefully help alleviate some of this burden so the Staska family can focus on Deacon and his healing. Any donation is helpful and appreciated! Thank you!
