Aid Dale's Recovery from Emergency Surgeries

Hello, my name is Jae Yim, and on behalf of my family, I want to sincerely thank you for taking the time to visit this page. We are reaching out in a moment of deep need, seeking your support to help cover my younger brother Dale’s medical bills after multiple emergency surgeries.
This has been a difficult decision for us. We’ve always tried to manage on our own, but after losing our father unexpectedly in December 2019, life has changed in ways we could never have imagined. My brother and I were both in our early twenties, just starting to build our lives, and suddenly we were also responsible for caring for our mother, who has her own health challenges. It’s been a humbling and heartbreaking journey, one that has tested us in every way—physically, mentally, and emotionally.
In May 2024, we returned to the Philippines to reunite with our mother, hoping for a fresh start. Instead, we’ve faced a series of medical emergencies. First, our mother was hospitalized twice, but with the help of friends and family, we managed to get her the care she needed. Then, just as things seemed to be stabilizing, our world turned upside down again when Dale began experiencing excruciating abdominal pain.
The pain was so unbearable that Dale could barely walk or eat. He spent hours kneeling on the floor, trying to find relief in any position he could. We rushed him to the emergency room, where the doctors discovered a growing abscess in his pelvic area. After several scans and unsuccessful attempts to manage his pain, they finally diagnosed him with a possible case of Crohn’s disease, a chronic and life-altering autoimmune condition.
Dale underwent surgery to drain the abscess, and we were relieved to bring him home after a few days of recovery. But just days later, his pain returned—worse than ever. The infection had come back stronger, and this time the doctors recommended immediate open surgery. It was the longest five hours of our lives, waiting and praying for good news. Now, Dale is left with a stoma that requires constant care, and his recovery is ongoing.

Despite our best efforts, the medical bills have mounted, and we’ve run out of options. So far, we’ve managed to pay off a portion of the expenses, but the hospital is demanding a minimum down payment of $4,000 just to continue Dale’s care. We are doing everything we can, but we’ve reached a point where we simply can’t do this alone.
It breaks our hearts to see Dale in pain and to watch the care he receives diminish because of unpaid bills. We know these are tough times for everyone, but if there’s any way you can help us lift this financial burden, it would mean more to us than words can express. Your support—whether through a donation or by sharing this page—would bring us one step closer to ensuring Dale gets the care he urgently needs.
We’re aware that GoFundMe is not directly available in the Philippines, so a family member in the US has offered to be our beneficiary for the donations. Donations will go directly towards Dale’s hospital bills and all his medical needs.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being a part of our journey and for helping us through this incredibly difficult time. Every bit of support matters, and we will be forever grateful for your kindness and generosity.
