My name is Andreína, and I’m Cynthia’s sister.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has shared kind words, encouragement, or simply taken a moment to listen to our story. In these incredibly difficult times for our family, your support means the world to us.

My sister Cynthia is currently facing legal battles for protecting a wild animal—a species that is legally protected in the city of Key West, Florida. Her arraignment is scheduled for the end of the month.

This is the only official GoFundMe to help us cover the mounting legal costs and related expenses we’re facing as a result. We are humbly asking for your help—whether that’s through a donation, sharing this campaign, or simply holding our family in your thoughts.

Cynthia and I grew up surrounded by animals. Our home was a refuge for many who had no voice—stray dogs and cats, injured birds, turtles, and other abandoned animals in need of love and care. From a young age, we were both deeply committed to protecting life in all its forms.

Cynthia, especially, has always had a profound connection to the natural world. She is vegan, a lifelong advocate for animal rights, and a practitioner of spirituality who lives by values of compassion and reverence for all living beings. She has spent her life speaking up for those who can’t, tirelessly supporting organizations and causes that protect the Earth and its creatures, and reminding others of the sacredness of life.

She is someone whose compassion runs deep—and now, she is the one in need of compassion from others.
