Aid Curtis Shiffer's Family After Hurricane Milton

I’m reaching out to share the heart-wrenching story of our longtime friend and classmate, Curtis Shiffer, from the State College Area High School class of 1987. Curt has been a close personal friend to me for over 45 years and has always been generous with his time and talent.

Recently, Curtis and his family faced an unimaginable disaster when Hurricane Milton struck Clearwater, Florida, leaving them with nothing but the clothes on their backs. In minutes, their home filled with water. Curtis described it to me like the sinking of the Titanic as water rushed in the front door. They lost their home, cars, and all personal belongings. Currently, Curtis, his wife, and their beloved dogs are staying in hotels while desperately searching for a new place to call home. Curtis has always been a dedicated friend, a kind soul, and I will never forget how, when I was the “new kid” in elementary school when we moved in the 5th grade, Curtis was my first friend and has been like a brother to me for over 45 years since. Now, he needs our help. We are coming together to support him during this incredibly challenging time, and we ask for your generosity.
