On July 2, 2025, Corey Moore (a/k/a Corey Moore-King), while leaving his office for the day, lost consciousness after suffering an emergency medical event involving his heart. He crashed his vehicle, and bystanders immediately started life-saving treatment until emergency personnel arrived on the scene. There was no pulse for several minutes. Upon arriving at St. Francis Hospital, a trauma team worked on Corey for well over an hour. He needed several rounds of defibrillation for cardiac arrhythmias. We thank God for the hard-working men and women of the first responders (Tulsa Fire, EMSA, and the doctors and nurses at St. Francis) who rushed to Corey’s aid and for their skill and knowledge while attempting to save Corey’s life. Others involved in the crash, as far as we are aware, were able to walk away.
Corey remains in ICU. He is now determined to have had a heart attack, followed by a stroke and brain bleed. They continue to do pulmonary testing, MRIs, and CTs. He is currently trying to get his oxygen levels stabilized. He suffered multiple rib and back fractures. He is able to move his toes and is communicating his discomfort. His memory is an hour-by-hour issue. Extreme confusion is expected at this point from the section and his injuries.
Unfortunately, Corey does not have medical insurance. He also does not work for a company that provides any type of short-term/long-term disability benefits. Corey is a maintenance technician who works in the heat of the day on air conditioning units.
Corey is the first guy to rush to help a friend. He, and his daughter, Cora, will need a lot of prayers in the next few months. Prayers first, and financial assistance will be needed while he recovers. Although Corey and Cora have become a part of our family (recently engaged to our daughter, Brittany). I personally can attest, Corey is a hard-working, stand-up, KIND human. All financial assistance will go to help with his need for daily living expenses and his medical rehabilitation.
Thank you for the prayers for Corey. He will have a difficult and long road ahead.
