It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Bertha Lopez Rocha, known by those who loved her as “Birdie.” Birdie joined her beloved husband Mike and her daughter Emilia in heaven on 01/08/2025.

Despite her lifelong battle with medical complications, Birdie remained a positive light for those who knew her. She continued to be a comforting voice and a warm embrace for her daughter Christina, pouring love into her throughout their grief journey together these last 5 years. Losing her precious daughter and her husband left Birdie with an unspoken pain; yet she pushed through to continue being the loving mother that she was. The weight of the grief was too much to bare and Birdie knew her time on earth was limited- she shared words of wisdom and endearment with her daughter Christina in the days leading up to her final moments on earth. While our hearts are shattered by her departure from this earth, we find peace in knowing that Birdie, Mike, and Mimi have been reunited in heaven.

With a humble heart, we ask for your help in supporting Christina during this extremely difficult time. Christina is the last remaining member of her family of origin. While her heart is filled with sorrow and disbelief, she is also remaining hopeful and full of pride as she attempts to move forward with life, honoring the legacy of her family.
