Aid Chris's Fight Against Stage 3 Cancer

Dear friends,
I am writing on behalf of my dear friend, Chris Hammond, to request support for his healing and recovery. To his great surprise, in November, Chris was diagnosed with stage 3 rectal cancer.
I have known Chris since 2005. He was my first acupuncturist, and the awakening that our work together facilitated is the reason I myself am now an acupuncturist. For that experience, I am personally eternally grateful to Chris, and I have been fortunate to call him my friend and colleague since. Chris has touched the lives of countless patients in his nearly two decades in practice. In addition to his work as a healer, Chris has two beautiful daughters, ages 11 and 13.
Chris never imagined himself a candidate for cancer. He is deeply committed to his many decades-long daily meditation and yoga practices, along with a diet of nutrient-dense whole food. At 54 years old, he has had no chronic health issues and rarely gets sick. He has no family history of colorectal cancer. When he sought evaluation for the symptoms he started to experience, he was surprised to discover a 4.6 cm malignant tumor, with lymph node involvement. The tumor also poses a risk of obstructing the bowel. Chris is aggressively pursuing traditional as well as non-traditional treatment modalities, many of which are not covered by insurance.
I have put together this GoFundMe in hopes of helping him meet the financial demands of the therapies that will give him the best chance to fully recover, as well as to allow him to take time from his acupuncture practice as needed in order to pursue his treatment and healing.
If you feel so called, I humbly ask on behalf of Chris and his daughters for any donation you are able to offer; no amount is too small. Chris’ healing will allow him to continue to raise his daughters and extend to continuing to facilitate healing in the patients he works with. I thank you for your support.
