Good morrow fair maidens and gentlemen, I cannot keep up the Ren Faire jargon for long so you'll have to excuse my plain words. My name is Amelia (Mia) Hiles and I am fundraising for my mom, Chris Smith, known to many as Saranyah Fae. On Saturday morning, she was involved in a severe vehicle accident resulting in a multitude of injuries and will be hospitalized for the foreseeable future, with a long road ahead in terms of healing. She has already had one surgery on her wrist and will need at least one more to remove the plates being used to immobilize her right wrist and thumb, perhaps more as doctors monitor her condition. She is currently in the trauma center at UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital and I have not been told exactly how long they plan to keep her admitted, but based on the appearance of her condition it will likely be late this week at the absolute earliest. As well as her wrist injury, she received several broken ribs, a broken sternum, and an unclear injury to her pelvic bone. By the grace of all that is good, it does not appear that there was any severe internal organ damage. I am fundraising to cover any associated costs with the situation. I am not sure of her health insurance situation, but I have heard that she is between health insurances so we have no clue how much this will cost. On top of that, her car was destroyed as well as most of her belongings within it so those will all need to be replaced. Funds will also go toward supporting family and friends taking time off work to assist with care, travel expenses, and room and board for visitors. Finally, we are going to be retaining a lawyer ASAP and will need funding for that. Chris is a passionate member of the Renaissance Faire community, as well as a deeply spiritual individual who dedicates all of her time and energy to making those around her feel happy and peaceful. She also loves roller coasters and amusement parks, her favorite being her local Kings Island. She is a mother to a beautiful, short stature, red-haired daughter named Autumn. She is also mother to a human daughter, Mia (hehehe). Since moving to Cincinnati in 2021, she has thrived and built a massive community who has already shown out more than I would have ever expected.
