Aid Chloe's Family in This Critical Time

Hello, my name is Nicole Huber. I am starting this fundraiser for my sister, Halie Likness, and family. More specifically, my niece Chloe.

Please help support Chloe and her family with upcoming medical expenses and travel. Chloe is a 12-year-old, spunky, caring, makeup-loving girl. She is the oldest of her 3 siblings. Chloe's back started bothering her a few months ago and developed a bulge under her right shoulder. She was first seeing a chiropractor who recommended getting checked out by a regular doctor. After visiting the doctor in Devils Lake, she was referred to a sports medicine doctor and then an orthopedic surgeon. It was then determined that Chloe has severe scoliosis and will need back surgery. Her surgery will take about 8 hours where they will put metal rods and screws in her back to straighten it out. If she does not have this surgery, it will drastically deteriorate her quality of life, affecting her lungs and heart, which will get worse over time. The bulge she has in her back is the result of her spine pushing on her ribs, causing her pain.

The surgery will take place at Mayo in Rochester, Minnesota, 7 hours away from home. She will stay in the hospital at least 4 days if all goes smoothly. Her family needs help with funds for housing, gas, food, and not to mention medical bills. She will have a long recovery time and won't be able to return to school for 2-4 weeks after surgery, with strict restrictions for 3 months. Her parents will need care for her younger siblings, Carson (7), Amelia (4), and Owen (3 months).
