Aid Cheryl and Bella in Their Time of Need

My leave HAS NOW been EXTENDED to MID DECEMBER. This has really taken a MAJOR TOLL on me, mentally, physically and spiritually. I have been asked to REPOST THIS because many said they NEVER saw it. Hi, my name is Cheryl Shanks. I hesitated big time at even doing this GoFundMe, but after consulting with people whose opinions mean a lot to me, and who encouraged me to do so, here goes.

As many know, I have been on medical leave since Dec ‘24. Short-term disability has been slim, and my SS retirement is just enough to pay my rent and utilities.

Because of medical leave extensions by doctors, Short Term Disability has stopped payment several times, thus bills have continued to build, a lot to way overdue. My long-term disability was just approved but it will take a bit before I get any payments so I have no idea when that will start. 

My prescriptions have increased, so thus more co-pays, medical trips back and forth to Grand Rapids at approx 350 miles, 2-4 times a month, round trip. Gas has been unreal. Also I would appreciate prayers. Being cooped up most of the 9 months I’ve out of work has been rough. 

Thank you also to those who have sent cards, and $ to my Venmo and PayPal. I pray Gods blessings for you. 

I also have to get shots, food, and supplements for my service dog, Bella, which I still haven’t been able to do.

I'm reaching out to ask for help from my friends and family, and those of you that really know me and understand me know this is a last resort for me.
