Help Caryn Regain Her Independence

Hello everyone,

My name is Caryn (Block) Johnson, and I am a passionate preschool teacher with a natural caregiver's heart. Being on the go and nurturing young minds is my true calling. However, my world turned upside down on January 9th.

Since that day, I've experienced multiple emergency room visits, countless doctor's appointments, and various medications. What was initially thought to be a pinched nerve in my lower back turned out to be a severe bone infection in my lower lumbar. After a week-long hospitalization, I'm now on a strict regimen of IV antibiotics administered through a PICC line twice a day.

I am under the care of an infectious disease specialist and have a follow-up appointment on March 18th to determine when I can return to my beloved classroom. Unfortunately, I had just started a new job when this sudden illness struck, and I am currently unable to work, which has left me without an income.

To make matters more challenging, I have had to temporarily move in with my mother, who has been a tremendous support during this difficult time. As I work towards regaining my independence and returning to teaching, I am reaching out for your help.
