My name is destiny smith I am raising funds for my fiancé, Carrissa Watson who recently lost her father to medical conditions. Her father was hospitalized on 8/22 and was pronounced dead on 8/23. She was not notified of any of this until she made a phone call to her dad and his mother answered to say he was dead. Her grandmother made the decision to pull the plug on him without his daughter’s consent. He had no written will, So his daughter should have been responsible for this decision. We spoke to the funeral home where his body is being held and they said his mother has requested to have his body immediately cremated. And that she will be at the funeral home tomorrow at 10am to do so. The funeral director said it is now my fiancés choice since she is his daughter but, Due to this immediate decision his body was not embalmed so he is only able to be cremated and his body will not be present at the service. She will have to have 1,400 tomorrow to have him cremated and be able to receive his death certificate. We are also hiring a lawyer because of this horrible decision that was not made by her.
