Hello, my name is Terri Walker. My sister, Carolyn Gregoire McCain, was hospitalized from December 18-24. As a result of the emergency hospitalization, we learned that she has cancer. She has been diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma out of duct with incision. The cancer has not yet been staged; however, due to an infection that occurred with the incision, the breast has to be removed. At this time, Carolyn is unable to work and was previously working a contract position. Our first appointment with oncology is Friday, January 3rd. We are hoping they will expedite the breast surgeon referral. The good news is that she does have insurance, but doctor visits have a copay and her deductible is $7K. The max out of pocket is $14K. The attempt to expedite disability is in progress, but we were told that it will take some time.
