Aid Camila’s Recovery After Emergency Surgery

Hello everyone, my name is Gabriel Olivares and I’m here to tell Camila’s story. Camila is a three year old female yorkie who’s full of energy and loves to eat! My family and I have been with her since she was two months old and brings us so much happiness.
Around the beginning of September Camila developed diarrhea that was very persistent. Over the next month, we took her to two different vets who prescribed her medication and a change of diet. Both times Camila’s symptoms didn’t go away.
Fast forward to December 14th, her symptoms were still persistent and an emergency vet visit was made. Unfortunately we had no luck with her improvement and her condition was only starting to become worse. She went from weighing 10lbs down to 5lbs and becoming significantly weak, while also releasing black stool.
On December 26 we took her yet again to another vet, where the veterinarian said she was in bad condition and was going to have to be transferred to emergency services. After x-rays, ultrasounds, blood tests and stool tests were taken the results came back that she was very anemic, had developed pancreatitis and had foreign objects in her stomach and was in great risk of going septic.
On that same day after receiving tons of bad news and going over the risks of every procedure, Camila received blood transfusions and fought hard to undergo an emergency surgery and by the grace of God and the amazing work of the veterinarian team, the operation was successful.
At this point we are still unsure if the foreign objects inside of her were the cause of her symptoms and that she’ll get better, but we are one more step towards recovery and are immensely grateful.
Over the last three months my family and I have accumulated a significant amount of vet bills, but it is the emergency vet bill that was over $12,000 usd that we humbly ask for your support. I myself had knee surgery at the end of November and have been away from work the entire month of December, making it harder to contribute.
If you find it possible within your heart and your means, we appreciate any and every donation! We are grateful for everybody who has come across this and are thankful we get to help Camila recover. God bless.
