Bubba is a Sun Conure. He was born in Florida on April 13, 2003. He joined the family when he was 4 weeks old. Bubba is 22 years old. He is very friendly and loves children. He is a social eater and loves to be around the family.
We noticed that Bubba started losing feathers on his own almost 2 years ago. We took him to the vet and he was diagnosed with Psittacine Beak and Feather Disease (PBFD). The vet bill is $6,232.78. At this moment, it is very critical for Bubba's owner to come up with the money due to being out of work and out of disability. Bubba is stressed and depressed. I'm asking for anything you guys can help with; I'll appreciate it with all my heart. I would like Bubba to get back to normal and happy. Thank you for your support!!!
Birds lose feathers from several diseases, but a major one is Psittacine Beak and Feather Disease (PBFD), a viral infection that damages feathers, beaks, and the immune system, especially in parrots. Other viral diseases like polyomavirus, and bacterial or fungal infections can also cause feather loss. Parasites and underlying illnesses can also contribute, alongside non-disease causes like stress or nutritional deficiencies.
