Hi! My name is Misty and I'm starting this fundraiser in hopes to help my dad, Brian Fraser, be able to pay his bills while he is out of work.

About 8 months ago his right leg started causing problems after 3 previous hip replacements resulting in his inability to work. In December he became septic and was hospitalized. Things have progressively gotten worse. About 6 weeks ago the doctors discovered that he had metallosis, a condition in which metal particles from an implant accumulate in the surrounding tissues causing inflammation and damage. This also caused a severe infection resulting in a surgery requiring all of his hardware to be removed. A spacer was put in and a very intense antibiotic regimen started. The goal was 10 weeks of antibiotics to rid his body of this infection and then once that was mediated another surgery to put in new hardware and then hopefully he would be on the mend.

About 5 days ago dad's leg swelled up to about twice it's normal size. After discussions with his surgeon, they requested him to come to the office for an appointment to check the leg. During his appointment he had a vasovagal episode and was admitted to the hospital for monitoring.

After x-rays, ultrasounds and a CT scan some fluid pockets were discovered and a culture was taken to check and see if the infection had returned. If it indeed has, this will result in another surgery to flush out the infection which will likely push back all progress and delay the return of hardware to the right leg and push back his return to work even further.

My father has always been a hard worker and a very giving person. He puts others before himself, always. My hopes of starting this fundraiser is that we can all pay it forward and do for my dad what he's done for so many others. Please help me in spreading this as far as we can!
