Aid Brian and His Family in Their Time of Need

My name is Joleen and my nephew is going through a really hard time right now. His name is Brian and he has been struggling with collapsing and vomiting for a while now. About a month ago he fell and broke his foot, but could not tell us how he had fallen. At first we didn't think anything of it because boys will be boys, especially those in our family. But at the same time as this occurred, he started to have episodes where he would pass out and then get up, but not remember what had happened or even that he was passing out. What was so scary about this is that when he would collapse, he was blacking out and not able to even try to catch himself. As a result he was continually hitting his head and body and hurting himself. Eventually he stopped collapsing and life moved on. The doctors didn't know what was causing it and didn't seem to be too concerned. Fast forward to 2 weeks ago. Brian started to vomit without know why and was not being able to eat, drink or take his medicine. Of course we were concerned and my sister, Amanda took him to the doctor and was basically sent home with the idea that it may just be a bug. Last Monday she took him to Brenner Children Hospital because he was getting sick so often that he wasn't able to eat or drink and her pediatrician urged her to take him to the ER. He was admitted and spent the week in the hospital. While there he had 2 instances where he passed out and fell. Once out of his bed and the other next the the couch in the room. On Thursday he was discharged in the afternoon and sent home. Over the next 3 days he had over 20 episodes of collapsing and hitting his head. The pediatrician urged us to again go to the ER and we went back on Monday afternoon. After 9 hours of talking with doctors and tests we were sent back home with a heart monitor and told to record all of the events. On Tuesday Brian had over 10 collapses during the day and we were worried about the frequency increasing. At 9:23 last night Brian collapsed again, but this time he didn't get back up. We were unable to get him to talk to us or to squeeze our hand. We then became very concerned because he wasn't responding and was gasping at times like he was having trouble breathing. We decided then that this was different and called 911. He was transported to the hospital again and this time he was admitted. Over the course of the night he continued to have seizures back to back. Now he is being seen by a neurologist and they are trying to find the cause and a way to help him. Through all of this my sister has been unable to work or to even leave his side. This little 8 year old is terrified to be alone and wants her to stay with him. She is a single mother of 3 children with special needs and while we are helping as much as we can, bills will be coming due soon. Both medical and regular monthly bills, and without being able to work to bring in money things will be tight. We are asking if anyone has even just a few dollars to spare that you consider helping her and the kids.
