Aid Brennan Roberts' Recovery and Family housing.

We are raising funds to support Brennan Roberts and his family. Brennan is 13 and is currently in Covenant Children’s Hospital in Lubbock, as he battles bacterial meningitis. Brennan, along with the rest of his family, caught an unknown virus around Christmas which led to sinus infections. Brennan, like the rest of his family, seemed to be recovering until he woke up New Year’s morning with a tremendous headache and pain in his eyes. Over the course of the following week, Brennan had been to the emergency room 3 times and had been seen in the office twice. During his last visit to the emergency room, he was flown to Lubbock because the infection had spread and turned to bacterial meningitis. He has had 1 brain surgery to drain a large abscess and 1 surgery to drain abscesses in his sinuses, and is looking at more in the near future. Although his mother has been and is currently working with a caseworker to get insurance for Brennan, the approval process has not been kind to them and all expenses are out of pocket at this point, and until approval comes through. We are being told Brennan should expect a hospital stay of at least a few weeks. We would also like to raise enough to rent an Airbnb to offer an affordable solution to finding a place for Brennan’s family to go for rest and regroup. We appreciate all love and support!!

Update 2/10/25: We have simply been blown away by the outpouring of support and love from our community as well as pockets of loved ones around the country. It has been a struggle to say the least, but this warrior is still going strong. He isn't out of the woods yet, and he will have a very long road of rehab and recovery ahead once he is. We'll be cheering him on every step and holding himm steady when he falters, and I have no doubt that he will conquer these obstacles like the overachiever that he is. I'm so happy to announce that this wonderful hospital helped us to resolve all of our insurance issues, so we've decided to put this money toward building Brennan a new room with all of the medical equipment that he will need going forward. He has been sharing a bedroom with a sibling while we attempted to save up for adding on to our house. And your incredible generosity has made it possible to try and get this accomplished for him before he gets to come home. Keep the prayers and positivity flowing! You are restoring my faith in humanity.

Update 6/3/25:

It has been a very long, bumpy road, but Brennan is now working hard in rehab and has a date to go home in sight. As a result of his illness, he is now considered triplegic and cannot feel or move anything voluntarily below his chest. We had to come to Austin for rehab and will be moving here in order to continue all of his therapies outpatient. I’ve looked everywhere for rentals that are wheelchair accessible, have public transportation, and enough space for our big family. Sadly, our options here are very limited, but I found a place that approved me to buy a large mobile home in a very desirable and accessible place. They’re needing $15,000 for a down payment, and I’m going to have to put in a ramp, widen doorways, and several other minor modifications. I have some saved from his fundraiser so far, but we’re going to need as much help as we can get. We are eternally grateful for all of the support and love along Brennan’s journey. Even shares are very much appreciated.
