Braxsons Bacterial Meningitis Recovery

*****UPDATE 12/14 - Braxson has made decent recovery since coming home from the hospital, he is finally able to sit on his own and take some steps but there is still improvement to be had. Braxsons speech has not been very well as nobody can understand him that great. Every week since leaving the hospital he has been to occupation/physical therapy multiple times a week for recovery. At one of his checkups about 3 weeks ago, they noticed some fluid in his ear and did a hearing test. Shortly after the hearing test, the doctor had called saying he wanted to do a hearing test while Braxson was sedated to get better results. After weeks of noticing he hasn’t been able to hear very well and talk very well, this test showed profound hearing loss in both ears. Sami and Travis have been staying home to take care of Braxson during these last weeks and run around to appointments multiple times a week. They are recommending a cochlear implant to be placed as soon as possible so Braxson has a chance to somewhat hear again. This is extremely scary and alarming to the family who will now have to learn ASL and how to communicate with Braxson. Braxson has been through quite the journey after having meningitis as it has now altered his life permanently. Prayers are much needed to help Braxsons parents and family navigate these troubling times. As big changes settle in and begin, anything would be appreciated just to help Sami and Travis financially Thank you to everyone who takes the time to read this and wish the best for Braxson & his family. *****UPDATE 10/29 - Braxson is still fighting every day and slowly improving. The baby steps he has been taking everyday isn’t much but ultimately is taking him to the right direction of recovering 100%. Due to possible complications, doctors are asking for more tests/scans to be done. Braxson has been smiling and eating more, but is still not himself and is in pain causing him to not be able to sit-let alone walk or move completely. Please keep praying and once again anything helps for Braxsons parents who are taking off work during this time. Hello Everybody,

We are creating this in hopes to help out with family expenses and bills while Braxson is in the ICU. Braxson turns 3 years old on this upcoming Monday and will be in the hospital instead of celebrating. Unfortunately finances have been a little tight already due to taking 3 months of off work for their newborn this summer and will now have to catch up on top of taking off more work for Braxson. Braxson is a brother to two boys Grayson & Carson who are at home during this time.

Braxson has just been diagnosed with bacterial meningitis. He started with a fever and basic cold symptoms a few days ago, as time went on he became very weak (unable to move his body/walk) and wasn’t forming very clear sentences.

After getting sent home from urgent care who said it was just a virus and to alternate Tylenol & Ibuprofen, Samantha brought her son to the ER in hopes of receiving better care.

The doctors knew something was wrong right away and performed many tests and exams which diagnosed him with meningitis. The certain bacteria takes days for the results, until then they will treat the best they can while keeping him healthy and stable as possible. Braxson will remain in the hospital for the next two weeks to get proper care in overcoming this.

We are asking for any sort of financial help to Sami and Travis as they own their own business and have 2 other children at home who need to be cared for. In hopes of raising some money, this will take the financial burden of staying in the ICU with her son for the next 2 weeks away.
