Brandy Cook is a well-known name to the locals in the Hickory area.

She is a mother, a wife, and a caring friend to many.

In November 2024, her life turned upside down after a routine optometry visit. This visit revealed severe swelling in her optic nerve. After testing, Wake Forest Hospital discovered a meningioma tumor in her brain. She underwent gamma knife radiation; still, she suffered loss of peripheral vision, migraines, numbness, vertigo, and brain fog on a regular basis. It was then determined these symptoms were not caused by the tumor, but by excessive spinal fluid causing main arteries to be narrowed and cutting blood supply to her brain. On May 15th, Brandy will undergo surgery, placing 3 or more stents to help blood flow, all while being part of a case study to help future treatments for others.

Brandy is a kind and caring person. She has been with Sport Clips for 13 years, building many relationships during that time. She is a positive light in many people’s lives and deserves to focus on her health, not financial stress during her recovery.

She will be out of work for many weeks and anything that you can give to help would greatly be appreciated.
