They say it takes a village. And the Gross family could use theirs now more than ever. For weeks, they didn't think twice about the pain Brad was suffering, until they were on the receiving end of a devastating diagnosis with an unknown prognosis. Fast forward to this weekend where he underwent a serious, and hopefully, successful spinal surgery, which not only included removing affected bone and tissue, but the installation of hardware to help stabilize the affected portion of his spine. Not much is known until pathologies return, but what they do know is that it is cancer. The dreaded "C" word that no family should have to face. And should not face alone. Brad will be unable to return to work for some time. Kim is attempting to modify her schedule, but her primary focus will be on her family. As it should be. And we all know how disability works. It is a broken system, much like many things in this world. For those who don't know, they have 3 beautiful and wildly incredible children: Mya (5), Trent (4) and Hadley(1), along with 3 crazy but lovable mutts. I am hoping that their tribe can come through for them and help alleviate some of the monetary concerns of daily life and some rapidly accumulating, and rather hefty, medical costs. No amount is too small. And if you are unable to contribute in that way, we are asking for your prayers. To let them know that they are not battling this alone. And that love and prayer are their greatest strengths. Thank you in advance for your help.
