Hello, my name is Alondra Suaste. My family and I have lived in Altadena most of our lives, and due to the deadly and devastating Eaton Fires, my mother has lost her primary source of income. She had a tailor shop on Fair Oaks and Mariposa, and it has now burned to the ground. My step dad was working at a restaurant in Malibu that has also burned down due to the palisades fires. As an Altadena resident, her apartment building was also damaged, and our only other family members have lost their homes to this terrible fire as well, leaving our family without homes.
My mother, Blanca, is an amazingly strong and giving woman. She is always willing to help those in need. Due to several health issues, my mother is unable to work a regular job, which is why owning her business gave her the ability to work around her doctor's appointments and sick days. All of her inventory, equipment, and unfortunately, customers' clothes, as well as very expensive wedding and sweet 15 dresses, have burned, leaving behind angry customers and a helpless woman.
Our family is devastated as our entire life has burned to the ground around us. My mother is currently at a shelter, and we ask that you please take the time to donate or share this so that we can raise funds for essentials, as well as lodging and all the other expenses that come with this tragedy. Please continue to pray for our beautiful city as these amazing first responders continue to battle these fires.
