Aid Bishop Melvin Lee's Recovery Journey

My father, Bishop Melvin Lee, was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor. It’s one of those life-altering moments you’re never prepared for — emotionally or financially.

Melvin is a fighter, a proud husband & dad, devoted leader/counselor/supporter for so many people, and someone who’s always put others first. Whether it sacrificing his time or money, or simple sharing stories and guidance, he’s one who shows up for everyone.

A few weeks ago, Melvin began having frequent dizziness and trouble with coordination, leading to a bad fall. After tests, we got the news: a brain tumor that will require chemotherapy/radiation and outpatient therapy.

Unfortunately, he does not currently have Maryland-based health insurance. That means the cost of treatment — from chemotherapy to rehab — will fall entirely on our family. We’re expecting to face anywhere from $50k to $100k in medical and support expenses, in due time.
