Biscuit is a 9 week old kitten that was rescued from the street. She was dropped off at an animal hospital with 3 different kinds of worms. The animal hospital took great care of her and cured the worms and me and my spouse, Tk, took her into our home.

The first week was amazing as we bonded and played and everything was perfect. The second week we had her she started having seizures, a lot of them. It was horrifying to watch this little babe be in such distress and get so scared, confused, and disoriented post seizure. We got her bloodwork, took her to the emergency vet, sometimes multiple times a day, had her hospitalized overnight, got her on keppra and phenobarbital after the gabapentin didn’t work, then came the MRI and spinal tap, all while the bills were starting to really stack up.

When you get a pet, you expect them to cost money when they get sick and you ready yourself and your finances as best you can but no one can be prepared to drop 8k in the first month of caring for a pet. She is seriously the best kitten in the world and a light in our lives. We do not regret spending any of this money on her, she is a precious sweet beautiful being. But we do need some help if at all possible.

This money will help recoup our losses because a bunch of the money used was Tk’s savings for a car, and help us get out of debt because right now we are in 6k worth of debt. We both work full time jobs and it’s going to take forever to recover from this and we obviously have our regular bills to keep up with too.

She’s been stable for almost a week and will need ongoing care but we are ready for that if we can just get ahead on this debt a bit. We love her and will do anything in our power for her. Please consider helping us with whatever you can, it means a lot to our little family. Thank you!
