Hi, friends and family!
My name is Molly Rea, and I'm Betsy's sister in law and dear friend here in Portland, Oregon. As many of you know by now, Betsy and Dan are expecting a sweet baby girl, who was supposed to wait to join us on this side in January. On October 19th, Betsy was admitted to Randall Children's Hospital with Preeclampsia. She's now on strict bed rest, and doctors are working diligently to keep her well hydrated, and her blood pressure down, to keep baby inside as long as possible. Both Betsy, and sweet baby girl are currently stable, and being closely monitored, but doctors have informed us that we should be prepared for Betsy to deliver at some point this week, for both of their safety.
Baby is 25 and a half weeks old at this moment, and we are praying and sending all of our healing to them for healthy development of Baby's lungs, for better survival outside of the womb. If Betsy and Baby are able to continue in a stable condition on bed rest, they will wait as long as is healthily possible before bringing Baby to this side. This means that Betsy could be in the hospital and out of work for up to 3 months- until her due date, best case-scenario.

My purpose for starting this go fund me is primarily to ease some of the financial burden off of Betsy and Dan, because their priority needs to be solely focused on keeping Betsy stress- free, healthy, and comfortable. Medical bills for a potential 3 month hospital stay, delivery, and the amount of time Betsy will need to go without work is unknown.
We are hoping for insurance and paid leave to come through, but we are asking for your help in anything you may be able to contribute to help ease the load.

Fittingly, Betsy has been working as a nanny for young children and infants with unique / high needs, so I know she will be equipped with the knowledge, strength and compassion this situation will demand of her.
She is one the most gentle, and caring people I know, often putting other's needs before her own.
Dan will continue working hard in a managerial retail position, and I would love to be able to take some of the weight of supporting his family off of his shoulders during this time, so he can be there with Betsy as much as possible now, and after delivery.

If any of you have been in a situation like this, you know how scary or uncomfortable the financial uncertainty of medical bills and leave can be.
Anything you could contribute will help greatly, even a small gesture of your support, I know would mean the world to them!
