I've been trying for a couple days to put into words what has happened, what's going to happen, and the fact that we could really use some help.

We are overwhelmed with all of the love and support we've been given. Thank you to everyone for all of the love!

Friday night 9/12 Bert was hit by a car at a fast rate of speed. The list of major injuries from going through the windshield; open skull fracture, subdural hematoma, dislocated fractured left shoulder, he had a laceration that cut his larynx and thyroid, broken foot, and facial fractures.

His brain is excellent, he's healing, and doing amazing. But this is going to take months. He had surgery on his throat and left shoulder, surgeries are done. He just has to heal. His voice is very rough and he's definitely not up for phone calls yet.

Meanwhile, there is home and me needing to be there, missing work. This is all very overwhelming, but I am doing the best that I can with some great support from friends here that have become family. It's been made clear that people are not happy with how I've handled things, well again I am doing the best I can.
