On Saturday, December 7th, our world was turned upside down when Barb (Barbara) suffered from a ruptured brain aneurysm. After waking up at 2 am, Barb had the wherewithal to have her phone with her and had the ability to call her mom, Linda, for help. Upon discovering Barb on her bathroom floor, Linda urgently called 911 while Barb drifted in and out of consciousness. After arriving at the Crossing Rivers ER in Prairie du Chien, Barb received a CT scan where they saw the brain aneurysm bleed (subarachnoid hemorrhage) located on her brain. She was immediately med flighted to Madison University Hospital where a 5-hour lifesaving surgery took place. We are extremely grateful to all of the medical staff for saving her life! Barb will be spending the next 3 weeks at the hospital under close observation, and it is unclear what her recovery will look like.
While her birthday on December 10th is a cause for celebration, she still has a long road ahead of her. Barb is a head-strong, sarcastic, loving daughter, sister, mom, and grandma, who doesn't like to ask people for help. She raised all 4 of her children on her own (including a set of twins), and currently she is raising Oliver, one of her three grandchildren.
As you can imagine, the hospital bills are mounting and there will be more to come. Your donations will help cover her medical and living costs over the next year. Anything you can do to help financially (donations, gift cards, food) or emotionally (prayers & positive thoughts) are WELCOMED and APPRECIATED!
