Most of you know about my 14 year old granddaughter Avalee who had a spinal cord stroke over Easter weekend. She was airlifted from NWA to Arkansas Children's here in Little Rock where she started her recovery journey. She has since been transported to Chicago to the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab where she is getting to work with amazing therapists and doctors. She is making progress, but the costs are rising and insurance will max out for her therapy sooner than later.

My daughter, Anna, is lucky to have a job that is allowing her to go up and stay with Ava for a week, then go back home to work. All of the traveling to and from Chicago, the equipment that Ava will need and modifications to her house for accessibility are really going to add up quickly.
