Aid Ashley Moody's Unexpected Journey to Motherhood

Hello, my name is Erin Duvall. It has been a week of surprises for my wonderful friend, Ashley Moody. Ashley has a history of heart conditions and has struggled with her health and feeling good for several years. Lately, she has had a lot of pain in her lower abdomen and finally found a doctor to listen to her concerns. This new doctor sent her for a CT scan this past Monday. The surprise was that she is pregnant. Not only is she pregnant, but she was 37 weeks pregnant. On Wednesday of this week, she was sent to the ER at a local hospital because her blood pressure was so high. They took her off all of her heart and blood pressure medicine because of the threat of it affecting the baby. With this being such a high-risk pregnancy, they have been searching for another hospital to send them to so that they get the best medical care possible. They were transferred to Emory in Atlanta last night where she has a very comprehensive medical team. The current plan of action is still being determined. Ashley is still battling high blood pressure and has been in and out of Afib since being taken off of her medicines. At the current time, all signs point to a healthy baby.

With this unexpected surprise, comes many unexpected expenses. Of course, she had nothing for the baby. We have been blessed with being able to collect things from family, friends and even strangers, but there are always the things you do not think about. There is also the time she will be out of work. Because of past medical issues, she has no more sick days left. She does have short-term disability, but from my understanding, that is only a portion of your salary. Her mom is also missing work to be with her during this time. They will have expenses of traveling to and from Atlanta.

Ashley would do anything for anybody and we all know how expensive a baby can get, not to mention all the medical bills. If you can help in any way, it would be greatly appreciated.
