Do you love Burning Man? Ashley is one of the people that makes the entire event happen! Do you HATE Burning Man? Nobody hates the event more than someone who just spent 6 months of their life to facilitate it. She's Salty, and she needs our help!While on her first leg of contracted employment with Burning Man (remember the aforementioned 6 month situation?) our beloved Ashley aka Salty was faced with the very unexpected passing of her mother, Kristina A. Williams on August 16th, 2025. Ashley was only able to take 2 days off to return home to Reno and assist with paperwork and the logistics of losing someone before the Capitalistic grind required her back at her full-time job on playa. Ashley wrote her mother's obituary on playa. She coordinated with the funeral home to facilitate the cremation of her mother and the pick-up of her ashes while on playa. Now, while STILL on playa, she has become privy to the full scope of her mother's debt which has pushed an already financially insecure person into the realm of financial ruin. So, lets do what we can to help keep her afloat!If you work with NVO or GPE, Salty is your co-worker. She trudges through each day with us! If you've ever been poured a drink at Jub Jub's bar (in Reno or on playa!) you may have been served by Salty! If you're a human who attends Burning Man and has a few extra dollars, this is the time to support the community outside of event week! Truthfully and earnestly, every dollar counts. Ashley has one of the biggest hearts I've ever known, makes me laugh harder than just about anyone, and is genuinely honest, hardworking, and kind. She is so widely and deeply loved, it'd be an oversight on our part to force her to struggle through this alone. Please send what you can to assist an adored community member in the allowance to grieve without the crushing weight of inherited debt.
