Hi friends — my name is Ashleigh, and I’m recovering from my second brain surgery for Chiari malformation type 1.
On July 31st, I went in expecting a tough but familiar recovery. Unfortunately, this time brought new challenges.
Because of my underlying condition (kEDS), my surgeon told me he can’t guarantee this will be my last brain surgery. I will be 30 September 4th, and I already have lived with chronic pain and rapid physical decline. This surgery left me even weaker — especially on my left side — and this has left me unable to walk needing a wheelchair, and this means I need a ramp as right now I’m house bound with no telling when I’ll be able to walk or get out of the house without a ramp.
I can’t work and money is extremely tight. Our goal is $4,200 — it won’t cover everything, but it will be a massive help in getting me home and on the road to healing.
If you can spare even the change under your couch cushions, I’d be so grateful (please leave the fountain wishes alone though — I’m all about good energy here ). I’ll post updates as I go through this recovery maze.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading, praying, donating, or even just sharing this page.
— Ashleigh
