Aid Andrew Duarte's Family and Reptile Business

Hey everyone I’m Andrew Duarte on June 23rd 2024 I was involved in a car accident that almost took my life. I do not remember much from the accident as I blacked out and didn’t wake up until I was already in the hospital but from the knowledge we have at the moment is the other vehicle involved in the accident was possibly intoxicated and allegedly ran their red light and hit me head on leaving me with a broken arm, broken hip, 2 cracked ribs, dislocated finger, a big gash in my knee that needed staples, and internal bleeding from my kidney liver and spleen. I say “allegedly” because the accident is still under investigation. The other driver’s insurance that was Involved in the accident is siding with their client solely based off a third party statement that places me at fault. But with some investigating and connecting some dots I have reason to believe this third party witness is friends or family with the other driver involved in the accident. As for 1 the third party statement completely contradicts both mine and other drivers involved in the accident statements. And third party witnesses is claiming they saw the accident happen from 400 yards back which the accident took place at about 1am so to see that far at that time of night would one pretty hard you got. Another suspicious thing is the third party witnesses was in a vehicle that had other passengers in the vehicle but only the person in the passenger seat gave a statement no one else when wouldn’t it make more sense that the driver would have seen it better as the driver needs to pay attention to the road the most out of anyone in that car and when taking statement from witnesses would the cops take statements from everyone in the car that could be a potential witness but they didn’t do that in this case so that is suspicious as well. Also the direction which the other driver involved in the accident was going was in the direction of the address of third party witnesses so that is very suspicious as we think possibly after the accident the other driver involved in the accident didn’t sustain as bad injury’s as I did and was able to call the person of who they were on their way to see and have them come to the scene of the accident and give a statement to cover them. Like I said before this is still all under investigation so we have to just keep what do you fighting this and seeing how it plays out. I am starting this go fund me as due to the injuries I was left with from this accident had made it extremely hard for me to live my day to day life. I am the bread winner of my family and due to me not being able to walk and use my arm properly I have been out of work for 2 months now and possibly even longer meaning I haven’t had any income coming in to support my family, business, and pay bills. It’s has been extremely emotional damaging not being able to run around and play with my beautiful 3 year old daughter as she is the biggest daddy’s girl and is always trying to get me to play basketball with her or go on bike rides with her or much more of the many fun things we would do before my accident but she doesn’t understand daddy isn’t able to do all that right now and it hurts so much to see how sad she gets when I have to tell her “no baby, sorry dada can’t do that right now I have a booboo”. Another thing that has been very hard for me to do is care for all my animals as I am a reptile breeder. I have been keeping reptiles and breeding reptiles for most of my life going on 14 years now and that is something that started off as just some pets then turned into a hobby of breeding and selling and now I turned that hobby into a full business that I am very proud of and it is called 408reptiles. Reptiles are my biggest passion and due to my accident it has been so hard to to the most simple things when it comes to caring for the reptiles for example re-filling water bowls is painful for me to hold the normal water pitcher I use as it is to heavy for my arm to carry or another example is changing spot cleaning tubs as I can really only use one hand to do it all as my other arm doesn’t really extend or manuver as it should but with all that I can make due with my injuries as I just got to figure out different ways to get the reptile chores done and every now and then I have some buddy’s who come over and help me with the reptile chores. But the most difficult thing when it comes to the reptiles after my accident is since I have been out of work and have no income I now have to come out of pocket to feed all the reptiles where before the reptiles used to pay for them selfs but with me not being able to vend reptile shows due to my injuries and sell what I have available like I normally do I haven’t been making any income from the reptiles to put back towards reptile food or supplies like I normally. Since I have no income coming in from work or from the reptiles it has been extremely hard to afford the normal feeding schedule for my reptiles. I am really not the type to ask for help or handouts but a good friend of mine said it takes pride to ask for a hand when in a time of struggle and I am definitely in a time of struggle right now.
