Aid Andrew and Cassidy in Overcoming Wildfire Devastation
Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
I’m reaching out today to ask for your support for my brother and future sister-in-law, Andrew Mkrtchyan and Cassidy Mull, who have been tragically displaced by the devastating Eaton Wildfire. While his home remains miraculously still standing (as of Jan 9th), it has suffered severe fire damage and is currently uninhabitable. The surrounding area has been designated a disaster zone, making the environment toxic and unsafe to live in. With the Eaton fire continuing to be active, it is uncertain whether their house even still stands among the many tragically fallen houses. Sadly, their beautiful neighborhood will never be the same.
The fire has not only caused immense physical damage to his property, but it has also displaced him from the community he’s called home for the past two years. A community that will take months if not years to rebuild. With the house structurally compromised and exposed to harmful chemicals from the wildfire, it's clear that it will require extensive repairs before it can be considered livable again. At this point, he has no place to stay and is left trying to navigate a complicated and uncertain recovery process.
Not only that, but he and our whole family are still grieving the tragic loss of our dear mother on Christmas Day (only 17 days ago). These hardships in isolation are a lot for any one person to handle but going through them back to back is hard for any of us to wrap our heads around.
I am creating this GoFundMe because this is all too much for them to handle on their own. As their older sister, I pray they can remain hopeful and strong in the face of so much loss. I pray that they feel encouraged to rebuild their future together despite all the chaos going on around them.
How You Can Help
The funds we are raising will be used to help my brother with unmet needs not covered by other disaster relief aid. These funds will help in the following ways:
Temporary Living Expenses: As he is currently displaced, we need funds to help cover temporary accommodation costs exceeding federal aid allowances.
Cleaning and Restoration Costs: The property requires professional cleaning and fire restoration to ensure it is safe to return to. The toxic residue left behind by the fire is a major health concern.
Personal and Household Needs: In addition to home repairs, he’s lost most of his belongings in the fire. Your donation will help replace essential items such as clothing, furniture, and appliances that were destroyed.
Ongoing Support: The road to rebuilding will be long and challenging, and any support will ease the financial strain and allow him to focus on recovering emotionally and mentally from this life-altering event.
**These funds are only to cover the amount they will need to spend AFTER FEMA aid**
This is more than just a house; this is where my brother built his life, made memories, and dreamed of a future with Cassidy and future family. The devastation of this fire has turned his world upside down, and he needs our help to get back on his feet.
If you know my brother, you know he’s the kind of person who would drop everything to help someone in need. He’s always been there for others, and now he needs us. No amount is too small, and every bit will go directly to helping him rebuild.
Please consider donating, sharing this page, or offering any support you can. Your generosity during this time of crisis means the world to him and our family.
Thank you for your kindness, your thoughts, and your prayers.
With gratitude,
