Aid Amy's Journey to Health and Recovery

UPDATE 7/23 9:45 pm - first surgery down, second in approx two weeks. The kids and I saw Amy this evening and she was in good spirits and relatively comfortable. Hoping for a discharge tomorrow afternoon!

My ex-wife, and mother of our four children, Amy, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and is scheduled to undergo a double mastectomy on Wednesday, July 23. It may be unusual for an ex-husband to head a fundraising effort, but Amy is a pretty unusual ex-wife. For more than two decades, she has been beside me as a spouse, a coparent, and as a friend. Amy is always the caretaker; for our kids, for her patients, and for me during my own health battles. Now, I would love to help support her, too.

I have organized this in an attempt to offset Amy’s lost income during her lengthy period of recovery, which has already rendered impossible plans for a trip in August with the kids. I know she doesn’t like asking for help, but I believe her current needs supersede that, especially with our oldest (Cailin, 18) about to depart for college next month.

Trust me when I say, I know money is tight, but I will appreciate every dime you can spare. If you’ve read this far, thank you.
