Aid Amy in Ansley’s Journey to Health

Hello dear friends and family,

I am writing to ask for your help in raising money in support of my granddaughter Ansley, who is battling Hodgkin's lymphoma, and the expenses my daughter Amy is incurring for her care, including growing medical bills and transportation and lodging costs from traveling to MD Anderson in Houston for chemotherapy every two weeks. We are grateful for Ansley’s clinical trial and that it covers the costs of the drugs for immunotherapy and targeted therapy, but the remaining costs from chemotherapy and procedures, even after insurance, are astronomical.

As the saying goes, when it rains, it pours. Unbelievably, in parallel to Ansley’s diagnosis and start of treatment, Amy experienced her own health scare at the end of 2024 and began a long journey of diagnostic tests to try and pinpoint the cause of her illness. Under the care of MD Anderson’s Suspicion of Cancer department and Baylor, Scott & White in Waco/Temple, Amy has had a PET scan, multiple CT scans, an endoscopy, and a colonoscopy to rule out lung cancer, small bowel cancer, and colon cancer.

Thankfully, at this time, no cancer has been detected. Amy has a follow-up with MD Anderson before Easter. Ansley continues to have chemotherapy between complications of her treatment, including multiple ER visits for seizures, fevers, and, most recently, a 2-week stay at MD Anderson due to incessant high-grade fevers caused by pneumonia brought on by a serious opportunistic lung infection.

I am in awe of Ansley’s strength as she faces each challenge. I am also so proud of Amy, a single mom of three college-aged kids and one high schooler, as she supports her family spiritually, financially, and emotionally during this difficult, scary time.

It likely goes without saying, but the financial toll of two patients in one family has overwhelmed them. Stephanie (my oldest daughter), her partner, Collene, and I have been helping Amy and her family as we can, but a contribution of any size from you would be greatly appreciated. If monetary support is not possible, we welcome a word of emotional support and, of course, your prayers. I will make sure any words of encouragement are read by Amy and Ansley.
